We give bees a home
Bees make an enormously important contribution to the preservation of our ecosystem, as they are responsible, together with other insects, for pollinating our flora and ensuring its survival and diversity. One of our advertising slogans sums it up with a wink: “Behind every good cheese is nature – and often ALPMA.”
We are aware of our responsibility towards humanity and nature and provide bees with a habitat on our parking lot grounds. They find ideal conditions in the adjacent meadows and forests.
Fighting the climate crisis with a job bike
Cycling has been proven to have many positive effects on health and also contributes to environmental and climate protection. Exhaust fumes, traffic jams, and noise have a huge impact on the environment and climate.
Some German cities have introduced driving bans because the limits for air pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide are constantly being exceeded. Bicycles are emission-free, cause neither traffic jams nor noise, and save space. With its Job Bike offer, ALPMA encourages every employee who chooses not to drive to work. Already, a quarter of all eligible employees are taking advantage of this offer! We say: keep up the good work!
Käseformen im Recycling-Kreislauf
Our French subsidiary Servi Doryl designs and manufactures a wide range of cheese molds and ripening solutions for numerous cheese varieties worldwide.
It is very important to the group to pursue a sustainable approach here too and to minimize any negative impact on the environment. As a rule, all of the mold manufacturer's products made of plastic or metal are designed for a long service life. Products made of stainless steel or aluminum are easy to recycle. Plastic molds can also be regenerated and reused. The polypropylene used in the plastic molds is found in numerous building materials.
We believe: Bonne idée et continuez ainsi!
Waste prevention: Less is more!
We take care to avoid waste in our production processes, including in the use of auxiliary and operating materials, and where this is not possible, we recycle them.
All applicable laws, regulations, and rules of conduct are observed and integrated into our management systems. We monitor our emissions, ensure proper wastewater treatment, and dispose of waste and hazardous materials in a professional manner.
Energy intensity reduced by 20%
At our Rott am Inn site, we use 100 percent renewable energy from the region, taking a significant step toward a climate-neutral future.
The green electricity comes from Rosenheim, around 15 km away, from Rosenheimer Landwerk. Rosenheimer Landwerk, which belongs to Stadtwerke Rosenheim, markets electricity from small biogas plants, among other things. ALPMA actively supports green (renewable) energy.
Reduced water consumption in our RO systems
ALPMA has developed the AquaECON system in collaboration with HORPOVEL®. This enables us to reduce the amount of water required for cleaning an RO system by 20% to 35%.
Well thought out: electricity from own production
We want to produce as much of our own electricity as possible in the future using photovoltaic systems installed on the roofs of the assembly hall and the old administration building in Rott am Inn.
Reduction of road traffic by concentrating milk and whey
ALPMA won the International FoodTec Award for its RO HighTS innovation back in 2015. Even then, ALPMA was already focusing consistently on energy savings and reducing
its carbon footprint. Our engineers have developed a membrane system for concentrating milk and whey, which enables us to achieve a total solids content of 30% in whey and up to 36% in skimmed milk. As a result, the number of tankers on the road can be reduced by up to 80%. ALPMA membrane technology enables significant energy savings compared to evaporation.
Digitalization as a lever for sustainable cheese production
Digitalization is playing an increasingly important role around the globe and will contribute enormously to promoting sustainability. For example, the “OPTIYIELD” algorithm developed by ALPMA ensures ...
continuous monitoring of our cutting machines. OptiYield constantly learns from the data generated during operation, evaluates the data in real time, and continuously optimizes itself. The settings, regardless of the model, are regulated independently to maintain a consistently high level of performance. These fast response times increase the efficiency of the cutting machines in terms of product utilization, energy consumption, and other aspects, and support the cheese factory's transition to more sustainable production.
International FoodTec Award in Gold for ALPMA FreshPack
The DLG Food Technology Award stands for forward-looking development in terms of innovation, sustainability, and efficiency.
In 2021, ALPMA was awarded the International FoodTec Award in Gold by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) and its specialist partners for its innovative “FreshPack” packaging concept – the world's first “butter packaging with a freshness seal.” This innovative packaging concept significantly reduces the use of plastic packaging.
Added value through longer service life of ALPMA machines
Durability is a crucial factor in using resources as efficiently as possible. The long service life of an ALPMA machine and its components means long service intervals, ...
less downtime, higher efficiency, and lower costs. We also keep spare parts in stock for a long time. This helps our customers achieve production reliability and a fast ROI.
